Elden Ring 1.07 Patch Notes Released

Elden Ring has received a new update that finally separates the damage scaling for PvE and PvP combat. The data that was included in the patch, however, seems to provide hints about new locales as well as ray tracing technology, which is an intriguing tease.

According to the information provided in the patch notes for version 1.07 of Elden Ring, the damage scaling for PvE and PvP has been split apart. This will make it possible for different weapons and skills to be independently balanced for each mode.

According to a statement made by the game’s publisher Bandai Namco in a blog post, “In the future, this functionality may be utilized to balance weaponry, Art, Spell, and Incantation in invading/PvP mode.” The balancing changes made inside this feature will not have any effect on the single-player or cooperative play modes.

The first set of adjustments that are specific to PvP has already been implemented. These include an increase in stamina attack power for all attacks made against guarded enemies (with the exception of those made with long-ranged weapons), as well as a reduction in the overall potency of Ashes of War across the board.

Several incantations, such as Agheel’s Flame, Dragonfire, and Rotten Breath, have had their power reduced in terms of player-against-player combat.

The most fascinating information, however, may be found in the data that the update provides. A data miner by the name of Lance McDonald pointed out on Twitter that “menu strings relevant to ray tracing features” had been added, which is evidence that the lighting and reflections technology may be coming to Elden Ring in an upcoming patch.

McDonald and ZullieTheWitch, a content developer for FromSoft, have both pointed out that the data includes references to two new maps that do not presently exist in Elden Ring’s data. Zulli mentions that their IDs are m20 and m45, and she also points out that the primary parts of the game are located on maps m10 to m19.

This information suggests that the recently discovered m20 might be the next “major” area of Elden Ring. She suggested that “m20” may be a Legacy Dungeon. Is the addition of DLC in the cards?
