Both the 16-inch and 14-inch variants of Apple’s top-tier MacBook Pro are among the greatest computers the firm has ever produced, but they cost a small fortune and are seldom discounted.
But in an unexpected move, Apple has just reduced the cost of these popular laptops.
Apple’s price cuts on the M1 Pro and M1 Max 14- and 16-inch refurbished versions were spotted by MacRumors. To be more precise, a fifteen percent discount has been applied to the list price of brand-new models.
According to MacRumors, you may expect to save around 10% on a reconditioned M1 MacBook Pro. While Apple’s refurbished items aren’t exactly new, you can be certain that they come with all of the same guarantees and packaging that you’d expect from a brand-new Apple device.
You can get a 14-inch MacBook for $1,709 (down from over $2,000) and a 16-inch MacBook Pro with a reconditioned M1 Max for $2,989 (down from around $3,500). For those on the fence, such a price cut might tip the scales in favor of making the purchase.
The price of a reconditioned 14-inch model is comparable to that of upgrading a brand new 13-inch MacBook Pro with the M2 processor to 16GB of RAM. Bear in mind that the 14-inch model has 16GB of RAM preinstalled and has superior graphics processing unit (GPU), camera quality, display size, and overall build quality.
Almost without exception, anyone in the market for a professional-grade MacBook should choose the 14-inch model.
Assuming an upgrade to the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models is the reason for the price cuts, we could see them soon. It’s possible that Apple’s high-end MacBook Pro M2 Pro/Max models won’t debut until the beginning of November, despite the fact that the year is running down. Some of the rumors suggest it would not be a good idea to hold off on buying an M2 model just yet.
Performance on the 2021 MacBook Pro models was great, and they should be able to easily complete most professional activities, even if Apple doesn’t upgrade the 14/16-inch variants with M2 Pro/Max CPUs (and save you a bit of money with these discounts).
