What You Can Anticipate From Google's Pixel 7 Event

Google has been hinting about the release of the Pixel 7 series and the Pixel Watch for a long time. The new products will be shown out for the first time on Thursday at the Made by Google event in New York.

We’ve compiled all the rumours and confirmed features that these gadgets are expected to have for your perusal.

Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

In May, during Google’s annual I/O developer conference, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were unveiled, giving us a taste of what was to come.

Google’s own Tensor processor has been updated for both phones. The CPU first appeared in the Pixel 6 series, making it possible for the cameras to gain additional capabilities. Real Tone provides a more realistic depiction of skin tones, while Magic Eraser may erase undesired elements from photographs. Although details on the second-generation Tensor chip are still few, we can likely anticipate more advancements in machine learning.

Version 13 of Google’s operating system will ship with the Pixel 7 lineup. The most noticeable visual distinction from the Pixel 6 is the addition of a camera bar. A lengthy black camera bar spans the rear of the Pixel 6, but the bar on the Pixel 7 will be constructed of recyclable metal and have black camera cutouts that will be more noticeable.

According to Google’s renderings, the Pixel 7 Pro will share the 6 Pro’s triple rear camera setup. Images suggest that in addition to the regular wide and ultrawide lenses, it will also include a telephoto one. And like the Pixel 6, the base Pixel 7 model likely has two cameras on its back.

Google revealed in May that the Pixel 7’s front camera will be housed in a pill-shaped cutout. At the same time, the Pixel 7 Pro will include a pill-box cutout in addition to a punch-hole cutout. These three cameras will form what looks like a reverse exclamation point when assembled.

Even though we don’t have concrete information on when the phones will be out, we do know that they will be on sale in October.

Pixel Watch

Pixel Watch

When Google finally released their long-awaited wristwatch, it was called the Pixel Watch. In May at Google I/O, the company showed off a prototype of the Pixel Watch and said that it will have certain fitness monitoring capabilities developed by Fitbit, a Google subsidiary. Other information, such as the watch’s price and release date, was scarce. The watch’s design and features are a mystery, although we do know some broad strokes.

For instance, we are aware that the Pixel Watch’s face is round and dome-shaped, and that the glass appears to bend over the corners.

It’s constructed from recyclable stainless steel and has a tactile crown inspired by the Apple Watches. The rumoured dimensions of the watch are 40 mm in diameter and 14 mm in thickness.

We want to see some Fitbit-like functions, such as 24/7 heart rate tracking and sleep monitoring. The watch’s face displays your current heart rate and the number of steps you’ve taken, both of which can be retrieved from your connected Fitbit.
