The Stunning Animation Shows How Deep the Oceans Really Are

When you consider how little we know about the species that live there and how little has been done to study the waters, you realize just how terrible they can be.

The ocean’s terrifying depth is only one of its many unsettling features. Since it might be difficult to visualize how far down the ocean goes, a YouTuber created this animation to illustrate the depth of the water.

The video, which has been on YouTube for almost a year, illustrates in exquisite detail just how far down into the ocean the water goes.

The film continues by displaying the depth to which water has penetrated various lakes, and by using real-world landmarks to illustrate just how far below the surface the water really goes.

In the video up top, you can see the animation for yourself. Alvaro Gracia Montoya is responsible for the animation and it can be seen on the MetaBallStudios channel on YouTube.

There is a tonne of more animations on this channel that provide interesting new angles on topics like the age of the universe and others. If you’ve ever wanted to know just how far down into the ocean the water goes, you’ve found the right place.

The Stunning Animation Shows How Deep the Oceans Really Are

As I mentioned before, a great deal of the ocean remains unknown to us. In addition to finding new, bizarre marine life like the recently found blue goo, engineers is developing innovative tools to help us further explore the ocean’s depths, such as a new wireless, battery-free camera developed at MIT.

The new footage is incredible since it shows the water at such great depth. Imagine the depths of some of these places; it’s mind-boggling. The huge bulk of our home planet’s crust is also taken into account. If that weren’t enough, scientists also believe there is another ocean hidden deep within the Earth.
