The Official The Last of Us Trailer is Here

The first official trailer for The Last of Us on HBO Max has arrived, and it gives us our finest look yet at the adaptation of the PlayStation Classic, with glimpses at several of the game’s characters, story information, and a scary Bloater at the conclusion.

The teaser is a pleasure for those who played the original PlayStation game, but it also does a nice job of explaining what the new series will be about for those who are unfamiliar with the source material.

Ellie, Bella Ramsey’s character, may hold the secret to preserving mankind, as she is one of the few west coasters who did not become a monster after contracting the virus. Our narrative begins when Pedro Pascal’s character, Joel, is charged with transporting the patient across the nation in search of treatment.

But we also see scenes from The Last of Us: Left Behind downloadable content, so we may be experiencing flashbacks.

The Bloater is a fearsome foe that represents a very advanced stage of the Cordyceps brain infection and is one of the game’s most formidable opponents. It comes near the end of the trailer, suggesting that getting to the west isn’t going to be simple.

The teaser comes on the heels of character posters that offer us a good look at the series cast, and they’re all helping us get ready for the show’s premiere on HBO Max on January 15, 2023.

Season 1 will consist of 10 episodes, and it will likely focus mostly on the events of the first game. Nonetheless, the designers have stated that there will be sections that “deviate substantially” from the established canon.
