Samsung Galaxy S23 May Soon Replace the Pixel 7

Even while everyone is anticipating the unveiling of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, it isn’t the only flagship smartphone series in the works. In spite of the fact that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 are currently Samsung’s most talked-about new products, they won’t last forever.

If you can’t wait for the Galaxy S23 to hit shelves, we have some good news: you won’t have to until the first few months of 2023. There have been whispers that the waiting period for the S23 won’t be as long as it was for the S22.

ETNews claims that Samsung is planning to release the Galaxy S23 two to three weeks earlier than the release of its last top S-series phone, the Galaxy S22 (via SamMobile). To provide some background, the Unpacked event for the S22 took place on February 9 of this year, and the phone was made available to the public on February 25.

If the event were held two to three weeks earlier, it would be closer to the middle of the month of January, around the 18th or such. This allows Samsung to take the spotlight away from CES and yet get their product out a bit sooner than usual.

Samsung Galaxy S23 May Soon Replace the Pixel 7

There is precedence for a launch in January. On January 14 of that year (2021), Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S21, and customers could purchase one by the end of the month. Since the premium market’s rivalry is as fierce as ever, the Galaxy S23’s release after the holidays is probably not far off.

By waiting until after the holidays, carriers and stores can finish off year-end deals on older hardware while the phone has a greater chance of competing with the iPhone 14 series and the Pixel 7.

The first leaked images of the Galaxy S23 series show phones that are mostly indistinguishable from last year’s versions. More leaks would be forthcoming if these launch speculations turned out to be true.
