Samsung Exynos 2400 Beats A16 Bionic and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

According to rumors, Samsung’s next Exynos 2400 mobile chipset will be used in the base model of the Galaxy S24 smartphone family.

On the other hand, rumors say that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor would be used in the more costly Plus and Ultra variants of the Galaxy S24 family.

Insiders in the industry feel that the Exynos 2400 has the ability to wow with its most recent performance stats, despite the fact that the chip is not particularly well-liked by consumers.

There is a lack of information on the precise characteristics of the Exynos 2400, although there are reports that it will have a 10-core arrangement and an improved GPU core count of 12. Production will make use of Samsung’s very own proprietary 4 nm SF4P manufacturing technology.

Benchmark scores that were leaked online reveal that an unidentified smartphone with an Exynos 2400 SoC earned an average single-core score of 1530 and an average multi-core score of 6210. Both of these numbers were released online by a leaker.

The Exynos 2400 has a multi-core performance that is 31% quicker than the upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 variation seen in smartphones such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Additionally, the Exynos 2400 has a multi-core score that is 30% higher than the average score of the current iteration of Apple’s Bionic A16.

On the other hand, the Exynos 2400’s single-core performance is not noticeably superior to that of its competitors. In 2024, the Exynos 2400 will go up against Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Apple’s next-generation Bionic A17 as its main competitors in the mobile processor market.

Leaked benchmark results reveal that Samsung’s next-generation integrated GPU, the Xclipse 940, performs better than Qualcomm’s Adreno 750. These findings suggest that the Exynos 2400 may be able to exceed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in terms of graphical performance.

In the results of the Vulkan benchmark that were leaked, the integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU) of the Exynos 2400 achieved a score of 13858, whereas the Adreno of the Snapdragon only achieved 12946. This gives Samsung a lead of 7% over Qualcomm.

This result comes as a shock as Qualcomm is normally considered to be the industry leader in Android-based GPU technology.
