PS+ December Lineup Leaked

PS+ December Lineup Leaked: The selection for the next month’s PS Plus Essentials titles will be announced by Sony in just a few days. The new PlayStation Plus membership service has three tiers, with this one serving as the entry-level.

Every month, gamers wonder which three free games Sony will release and whether or not they’ll be any good. There are occasions when we can reasonably anticipate a release because of the evidence we have gathered. The games are sometimes leaked ahead of time, or rumors are spread.

Rather than days in advance, leaks are now appearing only hours before the big announcement. For the PS Plus games released in December, that might be the case. There have been no reputable leaks that have made their way online. There are no juicy rumors, either.

However, on Tuesday, December 6th, the day the three PS Plus Essential titles are launched, there is just one new release. To clarify, we’re talking about Hello Neighbor 2, which is coming out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Since it will also be accessible on Xbox Game Pass on launch day, it’s possible that this may be one of the titles featured next month.

Unfortunately, pre-ordering the game from the PlayStation Store makes me doubt this is the case. New PlayStation Plus releases that are scheduled for “Day 1” are rarely made available for pre-order (to avoid refund headaches, no doubt).

Predictions will have to be made in the dark without the benefit of leaks (yet) or rumors, which, I’ll be the first to admit, frequently amount to wish lists. If there is a leak in the games, I will edit this article to reflect that.

Projections for PlayStation Plus in December 2022

First, I’ll tell you what I think will be the best-selling video game in December: The Last of Us, Part 1. The alternative would be Part 2 of The Last of Us. As the HBO series featuring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie premiere on January 15th, I believe one of these games is probable. (That’s why they are great choices for the January PS Plus update.)

It makes a lot of sense to release one of these games before the HBO program just as a marketing tool, since a PS Plus release may generate excitement for sequels, spinoffs, and adaptations. Part 1 has just been out since September of this year, so it’s unlikely that Sony will include it in the PS Plus lineup so soon after its initial release.

The Last of Us Part 2 was released in 2020 on PS4, therefore a free copy of that game would be a terrific promotional item for the show’s launch one month earlier. They may still earn money off of the remaster or remake if and when Naughty Dog decides to do one.

In addition, we can foresee:

Cult of the Lamb, Sifu, Nier: Automata, Insurgency Sandstorm, etc. are a few more examples of games that may fit the bill. To be honest, we won’t know for sure until this coming Wednesday. If I had to guess? Obviously, none of these are right.
