Discord Voice Channel on Xbox

Discord Voice Channel on Xbox: Voice communication platform Discord is now available on Xbox platforms. With the new update that’s being released today, Xbox One and Xbox Series S / X users will be able to join Discord calls from their consoles.

As opposed to a standalone Xbox program, Discord voice chat for Xbox is accomplished through the transmission of existing audio chats within Discord to the console.

Since you can’t join a Discord call straight from an Xbox, you’ll need to do so by first making the call on your mobile device and then transferring it to your console using the respective Discord and Xbox applications. If you go to the Parties & chat area of your Xbox dashboard, you’ll find a new Discord voice option; selecting it will initiate the account connecting procedure.

When you join a call on your desktop or mobile Discord client after linking your accounts, you’ll have the option to move to Xbox. If you tap it, the Xbox software on your phone will open and connect you to your home console.

You can view which of your Discord buddies are presently on a call, change the volume, and leave a call all from the Xbox dashboard once you’ve joined one.

This collaboration between Microsoft and Discord has been in testing since July, and while it’s not quite as convenient as joining calls directly from your console, it’s simple to get used to joining via the Discord mobile app and then moving the call across.

It’s a lot more convenient than joining a Discord call via the mobile app and needing a Bluetooth-enabled Xbox headset to communicate with other players while still hearing the game’s audio.

It’s possible that integration will strengthen over time. “We’re so excited to be bringing support for Discord Voice chat on Xbox consoles in partnership with our friends over at Xbox,” The Discord team has made this claim in a blog post.“We look forward to continuing our partnership to create even deeper, more meaningful experiences for your friends and communities. Who knows what the future holds!”
