Cyberpunk 2077 Fan Finds Unknown Weapon

The bizarre yet hilarious issues that plagued “Cyberpunk 2077” upon its debut and subsequent removal from the PlayStation shop will forever be remembered as a black mark on the game’s otherwise stellar reputation.

Nonetheless, the CD Projekt game has been enjoyed by enthusiasts and has gained a devoted following since its debut in 2020. It has generated so much interest that CD Projekt has decided to produce a sequel, something no one expected coming.

Nearly two years after the game’s debut, players are surprised to learn that a dedicated fan has discovered a previously undiscovered weapon.

Reddit user OSHIN recently posted a screenshot of a weapon they discovered in “Cyberpunk 2077” dubbed “Johnny’s Revolver,” surprising players who believed they had uncovered everything hidden in the game. Of course, the Johnny in the issue is Keanu Reeves’s Johnny Silverhand, a fictional folk hero and singer who has since passed away.

Even though Johnny has long since passed away by the time “Cyberpunk 2077” is set, his digital duplicate plays a significant role in the game’s narrative. Johnny’s outfits are on sale in “Cyberpunk 2077,” so devoted followers can dress as their idol, but his sleek revolver had gone missing until OSHIN reportedly found it. See how OSHIN stumbled into the iconic firearm and how excited fans have been about it so far!

To Conceal Johnny’s Revolver, We Used a Flashback

OSHIN uploaded a photo of Johnny’s pistol to Reddit and titled it “I uncovered a secret legendary weapon,” but followers were suspicious. OSHIN explained more in a remark, noting that the breakthrough occurred during a mod experiment. OSHIN said they had been playing with a mod that gave players unlimited flight and used that feature during a Johnny Silverhand flashback as part of their experimentation.

OSHIN suddenly started soaring above Night City like Johnny. OSHIN walked up to Fred, a weapons dealer, in a part of Night City that Johnny would recognize.

After discussing the matter with Fred, “was a gun commonly known as “Johnny’s Revolver.” Not only does it have a different name but it also has a different bio at the bottom than the Mandalorian. I did a lot of research online and couldn’t find anything else about this weapon, therefore I could be the first to find it.”

OSHIN is still trying to figure out a means to get Johnny’s Revolver to V’s Night City. OSHIN wasn’t the first to find Johnny’s Revolver, as pointed out by other commenters; thus, OSHIN soon provided links to other players who had found the hidden weapon before them.

One commenter shared how to get the gun using commands to force the gun into V’s inventory. While the pistol was obviously developed and buried in the code, gamers are left wondering why it was removed from the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 Fan Finds Unknown Weapon

One commenter theorized that the Revolver, and not the Malorian, was intended to be Johnny’s primary weapon and that when the team chose to junk it, they buried the reference so deeply in the code that they didn’t think anybody would find it.

Have We Identified a Malorian Concealed Weapon?

The availability of the pistol in the vanilla edition of “Cyberpunk 2077” was questioned by other players. According to one commentator, the game’s programming has several guns and other objects that are hidden from view. It’s unclear why these weapons were included in the code, however, they might be prototypes that were never intended to be part of the final game.

A handful of commenters believed that the reason for Johnny’s Revolver’s presence in the game has to do with some hidden coding. This was the speculation of one: “Given how drastically different the Malorian’s stats are from the ones V can receive, it’s safe to assume that this item was created specifically for the Arasaka nuking assignment.

As you may expect, this happens frequently in games that have story elements.” That is to say, in a flashback sequence when the player assumes the role of Johnny, the player uses Johnny’s Revolver to complete Johnny’s goal to eliminate Arasaka. Since Johnny is using a formidable weapon, even lower-leveled players will feel intimidated by him.

Players don’t need to experience Johnny’s Revolver’s sheer strength by the time V obtains the Malorian late in the game. So, the Malorian functions slightly differently than the flashback version of Johnny’s rifle.

In “Cyberpunk 2077,” Johnny seems to have two firearms, and players may never learn why Johnny’s Revolver is so different from the Malorian they can obtain later. Fans of “Cyberpunk 2077” have proven their loyalty to the franchise by going to great lengths to uncover previously hidden secrets in the game’s code and learn more about Night City.
