The patch notes provide a wealth of details regarding the game’s special features, which are reserved for console and PC releases.

Next-gen update gamers may look forward to ray-traced global lighting and ambient occlusion, as well as a wide variety of modifications and mod-inspired content designed to enhance the game’s aesthetics on PC. Some examples of user-generated additions are:

  • HalkHogan’s The Witcher 3 HD Remastering Project
  • Denroth’s HD Monster Revisions
  • teiji25’s Live-Action Real-Time Cutscenes are Phenomenally Engaging
  • This is Chuckcash’s Nitpicker’s Patch, and it’s for nitpickers.
  • Terg500’s Updated World Map

The ULTRA+ visual mode is specific to PC gamers and includes features such as: “significantly increases the visual fidelity of the game.” But unless you have a good machine that can handle the visual output, don’t get your hopes up and give it a try. In addition, those with NVIDIA graphics cards may take use of DLSS 3 functionality.

The Witcher 3’s next-gen update will include a Ray Tracing and Performance mode for Xbox One X|S and PlayStation 5 players. Both will support dynamic resolution scaling, however, the former will aim for 30 FPS with ray-traced global lighting and ambient occlusion, while the latter will provide 60 FPS.
