For the 48th consecutive year, Ford’s F-Series lineup retained its crown as the best-selling vehicle range in the United States for 2024.
Chevrolet’s Silverado series maintained its usual runner-up spot, but what came next was unexpected. The Toyota RAV4 overtook the Ram lineup to claim third place, followed by the Tesla Model Y and the Honda CR-V. Below are the five best-selling trucks in the U.S., along with total units sold and their overall rank on the vehicle sales chart.

Despite making it into the top 10, Ram saw a noticeable dip in annual sales compared to 2023. The brand reported 373,120 truck sales in 2024—a decrease of roughly 72,000 units, or about 16%. This decline marks a major financial setback for its parent company, Stellantis.
Ford’s continued dominance is largely due to the entire lineup bearing the Blue Oval badge. However, in terms of overall truck sales, General Motors once again surpassed Ford in 2024—just as it did the year before. Combined sales of the Silverado and Sierra hit 883,463 units, improving on the 2023 total of 839,056.
Toyota launched a fully redesigned Tacoma for 2024, which initially caused a slow rollout. But as production ramped up, Toyota delivered close to 200,000 Tacomas by year-end. Although this was below the 234,768 units sold in 2023, it was enough to keep the Tacoma at the top of the midsize truck category in the U.S.
Ranking 24th overall, the Toyota Tundra recorded 159,528 units sold, making it the fifth-highest-selling full-size truck out of six on the market. In contrast, the Nissan Titan saw fewer than 15,000 sales and has now been discontinued.
Within the compact truck segment, Ford’s Maverick led the class with 157,345 units sold, far ahead of the Hyundai Santa Cruz, which managed 32,022.
